This forum topic is for the discussion of the poll question "Do you take some time to brainstorm between working hours (Eg: to diversify/improve services, etc?".
I’m getting to the end of my career, so I’m not looking to diversify, although I’m always striving to better myself. I don’t know what is meant here by brainstorm. I’ll take it in the sense of “to plan”. So, when I’m booked for a large project and if I’m not very comfortable with the subject matter (or part of it) and I happen to have time available, I’ll take the time to read articles or books on the subject matter.

During quiet periods I often speak to my partner about retraining as a bus driver etc and she says don’t be a twit, or words to that effect, and then after a bit the work starts up again.
