My impression and experience with ProZ.com is positive. I get the majority of my clients from there. I use the services, like the Blue Board and the webinars, I watch the International Translation Day each year. I've spoken to someone from ProZ.com regarding my rates and she was very helpful. I'd say the yearly fee is totally worth it. I think ProZ.com is definitely on the side of freelancers, I think it's a great platform and I'm so glad I found it.
One of the main benefits of being a paying member of ProZ.com is having full access to Blue Board information and site forums. What's more, most of my clients have found me via my ProZ.com profile.
I joined ProZ.com as a paying member in 2009, and haven't looked back since. If you invest time with your profile, site facilities, training
and events, then after a while good customers will come after you. I've been "found" through ProZ.com from a simple Google search on many occasions.
Kişisel olarak, ben çok yararlanıyorum bu siteden. Benden yıllık olarak değil 120 USD, 330 USD bile isteseler, gözümü kırpmadan bu parayı veririm açıkçası.
I've been a member since 2005, Plus member since it started. As it's my only marketing channel I'm quite positive about it. I attended a ProZ.com conference in Eiffel Tower in 2010 and met Henry and other ProZ.com people there. I'll use ProZ.com services for as long as I translate. For me, the most useful function is the Blue Board. All of my clients have come via ProZ.com, both agencies and direct clients, even if not directly via ProZ.com but as recommended by my clients.
Being a member has enabled me to contact many new clients, most of which I now receive regular work from. Next to professional qualifications, ProZ.com membership is the best investment a translator can make.
I have been a paying member of ProZ.com for two years now and I would like to express my satisfaction as regards membership benefits. ProZ.com has opened new horizons to me and within this two fruitful years my clients have more than tripled.
Most of my new clients now come from ProZ.com, and I have to say that fine-tuning my profile has generated some pretty good "matches" (clients that are willing to pay my rates for specific subject areas). I think ProZ.com is a great source of new clients and it is also hugely helpful in avoiding bad payers.
Of all the annual investments Monica and I make, ProZ.com membership is arguably the most valuable. Every year, our membership generates new business contacts which result in tangible job opportunities... ProZ.com membership is a definite thumbs up!
ProZ.com membership increases your outlook and gives you exposure: You can be found. You are someone, your efforts can be appreciated by others (particularly outsourcers).
Sites like ProZ.com work for you 24 hours, even when you sleep. ProZ.com landed me two regular end clients, and I got many other jobs, not to speak about digital exposure. I ask all my clients how they found me and why they selected me, and not someone else. The answer is always the same: my online activity, especially in terminology help, translation contests, etc… ProZ.com alone offers more than 50 features that can help you create yourself and your brand. The sooner you start, the sooner you will start earning experience and money.
This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I have met colleagues worldwide and found new friends... Words are my passion and this is the ideal job for me with growing children who love to see me around. My small office at home is not a lonely place at all and may I say I have never been happier. Thanks
ProZ.com has acted as my guide. With my ProZ.com membership, I'm a happy, fully-fledged freelancer and I can safely say that I wouldn't be where I am today without the knowledge that I have gained from the site or the friendly community support network. Thank you!
For the past months as I begun my membership in ProZ it has been nothing but excitement, fun, learning and giving, as well as meeting colleagues, working with them, receiving the help many times needed and a great place to step into. Life becomes easier with people like you backing us!
In my case, an agency found me on ProZ and I got a dream job (10-year full time translation project) which changed my life completely. Later, I found a job post on ProZ which put me into $10K book translation project. Just 2 big ones in years but these were real jewels.
When I first started providing freelance translations I found ProZ.com a great source of information and helpful in many ways. Now it is part of my daily routine. To me ProZ.com not only means job offers, but it is a community and knowledge base and makes me enjoy work even more. Thanks to everybody working for ProZ.com to provide this page and for ever being helpful!
ProZ.com has opened for me a completely new market, complementary to my existing one. I've learnt to apply new tools for marketing, business (software and systems) and translation.
I am convinced that without ProZ.com, I would never have made the contacts I need to work as a full time professional translator. Not only have I received job offers, but I have also established valuable relationships with other translators which have evolved into a mutual support network of trusted colleagues.
I only have positive things to say about ProZ.com, which has been a tremendous source of professional support for me this year. I am constantly recommending it to friends and colleagues.
Since I signed up in 1999 the world for me as a freelancer has transformed. There is a 'before' and 'after ProZ.com'
I have thoroughly enjoyed my membership (Dec 2000) for all it offers:
. Job offers (only slowly appearing during my first years - Swedish is a niche language),
. Knowledge sharing (KudoZ, articles, forum postings),
. Views sharing (forums),
. Social contacts (forums, powwows, conferences)
. Fun (forums and meetings)
.Practical help (recommending lodging for my daughter in New York and our stay in London),
. Buying and selling opportunities of lexica, books and programs ('Exchange')
. Expert advice on computer problems and programs (forums)
. Exposure: You can be found. You are someone, your efforts can be appreciated by others
(particularly outsourcers ;-) ) (directory, Connect and KudoZ)
. You can feel 'nest warmth' like in a family or in a club
. You increase your outlook. You get to know how people from other countries and cultures think.
Using the ProZ.com message function and the eMail link or Skype, you can get instant contact
with colleagues across the globe for in-depth individual discussions on all subjects.
I have indeed grown as a professional and as an individual by embracing all the above ProZ.com advantages.
EUR 80/USD 120/year (less for renewals) is a bargain price for what you get!

I don't even want to think where I would have been in my career if it weren't for ProZ.com. Most probably, I would remain stuck within the boundaries of my country, trying irritatingly hard to deliver valuable service in return for dramatically low compensation. ProZ.com has always opened up new horizons for me. My ProZ.com profile is my online business card, the one I can't do without.
In 2023, I began shutting down my freelance translator work. At 77, I am embarking on new challenges, but always related to the linguistic skills that ProZ helped me to hone.
I began translating professionally in 1992 and I was one of the first adherents to ProZ. I have watched it grow and expand, and it has been a great help to me, especially in the early years in garnering clients that I worked with for nearly two decades in some cases. The KudoZ terminology tools were essential in helping me build my own glossaries for the types of jobs I was involved in. I recall the names of colleagues that I never had the chance to meet in person but with whom I interacted on the KudoZ platform. It has been a truly rewarding experience.
I love all things ProZ.com because ProZ.com keeps on delivering. ProZ.com landed me a few regular and casual clients. ProZ.com is also my pension plan. Earning bucks with the laptop on the balcony of a hotel. Sea-side. Keep up your great work.
The site definitely helped me to extend my business as a freelancer. This surely helped me to "make much more money" than I earned before registration at the site. And I guess I am not the only one who met clients and established new business relations via ProZ.com.
