Для всех это фильм о проблеме растущей социальной и экономической пропасти в Южной Корее. Капитализм зло, все друг на друге паразитируют, система уничтожает людей, диалог не возможен, надежды нет. А запустил этот механизм -камень, которого принесли как ключ и им же ударили по голове. Вот и вся метафора. Но в фильме КОРЕЙЦА про КОРЕЙЦЕВ и для КОРЕЙЦЕВ есть то, к чему просто не были готовы наши европейские мозги. Поэтому от нас мог ускользнуть мотив и замысел режиссёра. Для понимания нужно знать историю Кореи, как минимум за полвека и особенности их мироощущения.
У нас разная система ценностей и система восприятия. Запад вырос на образцовой философии JUST DO IT. Нас с детства учат, что мы сами кузнецы своего счастья и всё в этом мире возможно, для успеха нужны только время, усилия и план. На западе всегда есть план один на всех или у каждого свой и он несомненно про «успешный успех». Единственный забор который нам бывает сложно преодолеть – недостаток амбиций , хватки и усилий. Но если ты перепрыгнул, то жизнь удалась. У корейцев же вся жизнь сплошные заборы.

Many accept the film as the description of the social and economic gap growing inside South Korea. Capitalism is evil, everyone lives off each other, the system destroys people, a dialog is impossible, there is no hope. And the catalyst of all this was a stone that was brought as a key to the richness and was used as a tool to crush the head. That’s the end of the metaphor. The film created by a Korean about the Koreans for the Koreans is about something for which our European brains were not ready. The reason why we could not grasp the director’s motif and the idea of the film. To comprehend it, we need to know Korean history, at least of its half-century, and the way they accept this world.
We do not share the same systems of values and of perceptions. The Western world grew up on the “JUST DO IT” principle. Since our childhood we were taught that we are forgers of our happiness and that everything is possible in this world; we need only time, effort, and a plan to succeed. Either the Western world holds one plan for everyone or everyone has its own plan, this plan is undoubtedly “successful”. The only fence that keeps you away from this success is the lack of ambition, of a grip, and of effort. But if you managed to jump over it, you succeeded in life. In South Korea, life is full of endless fences.
