Hi, Does anyone know of a tool for translating macros in Excel 2003 files using SDL Trados? Or is there a way to do it using just SDL Trados 2007? Thanks, Mike

Hi Sergei, It looks like the strings which are output to the screen for dialog boxes, etc., will need to be translated. (They are enclosed in double quotes " ".) I guess it is possible to just translate the whole *.bas file. I was just wondering if there were a better way. The functional code probably does not need to be translated (but it might need to be localized, depending on what it is and what it does), but if VBA is used to display dialogs, etc., all the relevant strings would in fact need to be translated. AFAIK, this would need to be done in the VBA editor, until the relevant strings could be exported by the programmer who created the application in some format that could be handled using a CAT tools

Then you could try the various programming language filters in SDLX to see how good they are at extracting translatable content.
