Job Title: Pivot Language Dialogue List (PLDL) QCers

Description:
A Pivot Language Dialogue List (PLDL) is an accurate, unadapted translation into English of the original spoken dialogue list (source language that is not English). PLDL are used by dubbing studios to create the dubbing script and dubbed audio for their target language.
The Dialogue List (DL), also known as “as broadcast script”, is an accurate transcription of the original content in a video (English > English).

As a QCer, you'll work in an online tool and you will check the quality of subtitles of the PL(DL) for errors of the following nature: content / formatting / synchronization /linguistic errors.
Training is provided in the form of online tutorials.
Work is done online and you have direct access to project coordinators in the US and London when you need support.

QC work can be done in conjunction with your other freelance projects, provided it is not work for the same client through a vendor other than TVT.

Pay:
Pay is based on programme runtime minutes.
More information will be supplied in further emails and on receipt of a signed NDA.
The NDA does not commit you to work should you not be happy with the rates.

Candidates must:
- Native speakers of the Target language (English) and / or the Source language,
- Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation plus ongoing engagement with the living language. Cultural sensitivity and extensive understanding of terminological/cultural nuances.
- Full understanding of the source language (English), including idioms and jargon,
- Experience in subtitling Quality Control: 3+ years seasoned,
- PL(DL) QC experience will be greatly appreciated,
- Template creation will be greatly appreciated,
- The ideal candidate will have strong linguistic skills in both English and of the non-English Source Languages (listed above), ideally having translation and/or subtitling experience.
- Ability to adhere to instructions, guidelines, and best practices and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent time management to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Tech-savvy, a logical thinker, quick at adopting new tools and technologies.
- Ability to work on QC files on a daily/weekly basis.
- Have an internet speed of around 10Mb/s.
- Can work on files in a private setting for confidential work.

Training:
It is done in English via the client's online training portal, it takes about 1 - 3 days to complete depending on experience of this type of work.
