Good luck. It seems there is no decent precedent and they do not have an English site. You have a chance of coining the acceptable to an English ear name for them!

I am sorry but I do not know the name of the Center. But I guess that Vladimir answer is really close, if not an accurate one.
I do not understand what's wrong with the title Academician? You are right because I know that in US this title is not common and it is used as "a member of Academy":

The title Academician denotes a Full Member of an academy. It is most often used to denote a full member of the National Academy of Sciences in those countries where the Academy has a strong influence on national scientific life, particularly countries that were part of, or influenced by, the Soviet Union.
In such countries, "Academician" is used as a title (like "Doctor", "Professor" etc) when addressing or speaking about someone.
Countries where the term Academician is used in this way include Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Moldova, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, Croatia and possibly others.

Я читала воспоминания П.Палажченко, который был (и есть)переводчиком М.С.Горбачева, он отдельно останавливался на переводе этого слова. Отметив, что за рубежом это звание вовсе не имеет такого значения (как и вообще звания-его слова), он все-таки признал, что титул существует и переводить его следует именно так.
Мне неясно, почему Рэм Петров, ведущий иммунолог,выступает от имени от института (или центра)- но это к делу не относится. А звание- как звание(имею в виду перевод). На нашем сайте можно встретить куда более смешные и нелепые ошибки- но людям свойственно ошибаться,исправятся со временем. Я не знаю, кто переводил(это неважно), но не думаю, что он/она так уж согрешили.
Если Вы можете переубедить меня- я буду рада увидеть ошибку и учту ее на будущее.

В поисковую систему MSN ввела:

два источника с одинаковым названием:
=НАУЧНАЯ=ЭЛЕКТРОННАЯ=БИБЛИОТЕКА ......, но разными адресами:
ин-тут им.Н.Бакулева РАМН Москва 486 и Черноголовка 417 - дали тождественную информацию.
