Halleluia = Praise Yahweh

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, the Medieval Latin "alleluia" is derived from the Late Greek "allelouia" which in turn is derived from the Hebrew "halleluia", which is a shortened form of Hallelu Yahweh ("praise Yahweh").
