Italian term

franco cava

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Mining & Minerals / Gems
Hello everyone,

I'm doing a translation from Italian into English about a mining company and I've found the following term. I don't know if there is a correspondent term in English. This is the context: Il prezzo è franco cava ed il trasporto avviene a carico del cliente.

Please advise!

Thanks

ex quarry

It means that the goods will be ready at the quarry and the customer will pay for transport.

agree philgoddard : Though I think "ex" is starting to sound a bit old-fashioned now, like "ex works". I would say "the price does not include delivery from the quarry".

I think it is still commonly used. It is less wordy...
