Italian term

ribaltamento della calza

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng coaxial cables
I found various uses of ribaltamento in the Glossaries, but none seem to fit here.

context is a patent, here are some examples:

... dispositivo per la ripiegatura, o ribaltamento, della calza di fili metallici che costituisce il conduttore esterno dei cavi coassiali

L’operazione di ribaltamento è necessaria affinché il connettore, che verrà successivamente applicato all’estremità del cavo, possa essere collegato alla calza di rame.

At first I thought this was going to be "stripping", but they also talk about the "estremità spellata" which is obviously the stripped end, and it's distinct from the "ribaltamento"...

I've thought of turning down, turning back.... but there must be something more technical.

folding back the screen

After stripping off the end of the outer insulation ('estremità spellata'), it is very common roll the exposed end of the tubular braided screen back down the outside of the cable prior to the application of a clamp or some similar device the make good electrical connection with the screen. A thin metal tube may be slid over the outer insulation first, so the screen is held between this tube and the clamp, thus offering better contact..

Re asker's notes below: Yes, we often refer to 'rolling back' the braid. It's valid jargon.

'folding back' would suggest that the braided screen is unravelled and then the strands are folded back straight along the sheath, whereas 'rolling back' would suggest that the braid maintains it's tubular shape (and screening performance) - an operation similar to turning a sock inside-out.
Note from asker:
Thanks, I'm already using "folding" when they use "piegatura"; I realise it's the same thing, I'm hoping to find a useful synonym.
Do you think "rolling back" would be possible? .... device for folding, or rolling back, the braid...... ?
Thanks, it'll have to be ROLLING BACK, this has to be in tomorrow and I'm only half-way...
