Aromatherapy is the ancient art and science of balancing the emotions, healing the body and lifting the spirit through the fragrant plant essences known as Essential Oils.
Essential oils are the subtle, aromatic and volatile liquids extracted from the flowers, seeds, leaves, stems, bark and roots of herbs, bushes, shrubs and trees through distillation.

Dewan Eja sometimes throws a spanner in the works by giving you something different from the other sources, and happily calling the other terms "istilah lama". This is one instance.
Among the "istilah lama" is minyak perlu, minyak esen, minyak atsiri, minyak esential.

agree yam2u : exactly! on top of that some of the istilahs (baik baru a.tau lama), imo, do not really reflect the important property of essential or volatile oil (which is rapid evaporation and leaving no stain)

agree Abd Latiff Bidin (X) : If one is going just for the equivalent, "minyak pati" is the established/accepted one.
