a new possibility of humanity

English Social Sciences General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters book on intraconnection
Dear colleagues,
I'm not sure about the meaning of "a new possibility of humanity" in the passage below, which is a review on a book called Intraconnected by Daniel Siegel.
Might it be a typo for "a new possibility FOR humanity"? Or maybe, "possibility" here has a different meaning, such as "idea", "concept"...
Thank you for your help!
**********************

In an amazing dance of intellectual brilliance, heartfelt caring, and wise embrace, Dan Siegel invites us into the depth of his and our human story of development in order to examine, reflect, and melt the nature of the separate self. *** A new possibility of humanity *** arises when we authentically allow the possibility of intraconnectedness into our lives.

Dear colleagues, thank you so much for your help! I'm still thinking about it... Actually, the book describes a new way of considering our identity, which is supposed to be not only body-based (the "me"), not only "inter-connected" with others (the "we"), but also "intraconnected" in what is called "mwe", meaning that in a sense we form a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts: e.g. we are "all one" with nature and with other people(s).
So, in a sense, it may be a new idea of humanity: a human being is not only his body and his head, but also something "bigger"...
Yet, this perspective might also be an opportunity for humanity, because might help us solve urgent challenges such as social injustice and environmental destruction...
Wow, it'll be a hard job choosing one of the answers!
For now, a sincere thanks to all of you for your precious help!

a new type of humanity

To me, it sounds as if humanity may improve when we allow the possibility of interconnectedness into our lives, hence the possibility of a new type of humanity may develop.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you so much, Mihaela, for your help! A sincere thanks also to all other participants! As I said in the Discussion, both Mihaela's suggestion and Mark's and Clauwolf's proposals could work according to the message conveyed in the book. Actually, it could be a new "idea" of humanity, not only limited to the individual body, but also comprising something bigger, that includes all other living beings and nature, while maintaining one's own individuality. Many many thanks!"

a new opportunity for humanity

Translators translate meaning. Verbiage often conceals an absence of meaning.

Thank you so much, Mark, for your suggestion!

agree AllegroTrans : given that most Latin languages us the poss- stem for "opprtunity" and that the text is probably a translation, this seems correct

neutral philgoddard : Allegro: it's not a translation, just clumsy writing.

Something like that (rephrasing is a must here)
