@Gustavo Obviously this "idomatic phrase" conjoured up by some IT "chico esperto" (appears to me, in my opinion) quite absurd when translated into Pt. perhaps it would be better to simply say "esvaziar/limpar o caixote do lixo" or some such equivalent. Even in the Urban Dictionary - "kitty litter" and NOT cat litter appears with various meanings - some of them vulgar (MAY BE OFFENSIVE)

Paul, a palavra liteira não é nenhuma combinação de inglês com português.
Vem do latim significando "leito" e só tem esse nome, porque a bandeja ou caixa higiénica tem a forma ou lembra a forma de uma pequena cama.
