Spanish term
electivas intermedias
Spanish to English
Social Sciences
Education / Pedagogy
Some additional subjects chosen by a university student. The problem is "intermedias" - could it refer to subjects being studied in parallel to the other, compulsory subjects (in the same time, not after)? -- There is another group of subjects under the headline "Electivas interdisciplinarias" which is not really difficult to understand, but a bit confusing, as it seems to be opposed to the first group in some way that I fail to understand.

intermediate electives
Without more context, it sounds like intermediate electives could refer to intermediate-level courses in the same subject and interdisciplinary electives would refer to cross-subject courses. Ideally, however, you should provide more context.

intermediate-level optional subjects
Offering this solution but lack of context makes it a bit hard - only two adjectives. Is the noun "asignaturas" ? Can you provide the surrounding text?

intermediate elective subjects/courses
You don't provide enough information to be certain but I think this is just referring to optional as opposed to obligatory parts of the course that the students choose themselves.
What is an elective / optional subject?
An elective subject (also referred to as an 'optional subject') is not compulsory (unlike core subjects). You have a choice as to which elective subjects you can study.

See the explanation of interdisciplinary below from Wikipedia:
Interdisciplinarity involves the combining of two or more academic disciplines into one activity (e.g., a research project). It is about creating something new by crossing boundaries, and thinking across them. It is related to an interdiscipline or an interdisciplinary field, which is an organizational unit that crosses traditional boundaries between academic disciplines or schools of thought, as new needs and professions emerge.

I don't see any problem in 'interdiscplinary courses' being part of the degree course.
