Spanish term

Spanish to English Social Sciences Philosophy ética Santo Tomás de Aquino
Por ejemplo, Tomás de Aquino en el Comentario a la Ética de Nicomaco, resalta: "No es suficente que el hombre via. Es necesario que viva bien"

Es una cita que ya debe estar traducida al inglés. No la puedo encontrar.

Gracias!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): philgoddard

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Man should not simply live, but live well

Although I cannot link this sentence to your text, I think this would be the correct translation, and you can find it in the following links (and others if you google it) on Ethics. It appears to have been said by Aristotle first. The whole sentence is:

"Man should not simply live, but live well with conduct governed by moderate virtue."

Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : I would use this. It is a reasonably accurate summary of what Aristotle wrote and Aquinas echoed, and it works as a quotation.

namely, that man may not only live but live well

COMMENTARY ON THE NICOMACHEAN ETHICS by Thomas Aquinas, translated by C. I. Litzinger, O.P. Chicago: Henry Regnery Company, 1964, 2 volumes.

The quote is from lecture 1.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Charles Davis : Yes, this is it, but do you translate the misquotation or correct it? In its correct form it is not a freestanding aphorism. // By the way, re. Justin's comment, this has nothing to do with reverse translation.

agree Justin Mattos : Use the quote given in the answer. Reverse translations aren't accurate anyway.

Ya. Prueba buscando en Google por THOMAS AQUINAS NICOMACHEAN ETHICS + diferentes posibilidades: "living well" "acting well", etc.
Note from asker:
Gracias, Simon. El problema de los tiempos de la traducción (de los clientes) es no dan lugar a que uno lea largos textos. A rigor sería parte del trabajo, pero no es posible. Por eso el pedido de ayuda.
