This is the opening paragraph of a text by an Argentine art critic:
En los albores del siglo XXI muchos se preguntaron si el tercer milenio traería bendiciones o catástrofes, un mundo nuevo, una sociedad más justa, una humanidad igualitaria o los oscuros sones del apocalipsis.
Dark sounds seems so literal...might he be getting at something else? A more apt metaphor in English?
