Il corso si prefigge di illustrare lo sviluppo della lingua inglese dall’Old English al Present Day English tramite la lettura, traduzione e commento di testi affrontati in classe. Una finalità del corso di incontri è di far vedere come la conoscenza della storia della lingua può contribuire ad un conoscenza migliore della lingua stessa.

The course will analyze the development of the English language from old English to Present Day English through the reading, translating and commenting on texts in the classroom. One of the aims of the course is showing how the knowledge of the history of a language can improve the knowledge of the language itself.


I prefer to use translating instead of translation because I want to emphasize that it's an activity.
