A line wiper would mean the wireline wiper, i.e. a rubber device that wipes the thin cable on which measuring tools etc. are run (when retrieving from hole). A liner (foringsr�r)wiper is used for cleaning the inside bore of the liner.

"line wiper" is used in the text, but in general it looks as though both "line" and "liner" are in use.
