mengikut aliran kata hati mereka
Figuratively, following the call of the tides of the heart means to have the tendency to follow their feelings. According to Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka/ Pusat Rujukan Persuratan Melayu, one of the meanings of tide is tendency ie. "arus" or "aliran" in Malay.
Example sentence:

menyahut/mengikut panggilan detik/kata hati mereka
Possible sentence: Lebih banyak orang Mutiara menyahut panggilan detik hati mereka, lebih gembiralah mereka!
[The suggestion of menyahut panggilan detik hati mereka sounds corny, but since the source text is corny... :D ]
What is important here to me is the word call should not go untranslated. I see the it as the operative word in a sentence that is about speaking about listening to one's instinct.
Please note that mengikut perasaan hati would be quite wrong as that is another thing altogether. That is talking about being impulsive. :)
