When referring to the accommodation, a more commonly used term would be \'sheltered housing\' (or \'sheltered accommodation\', as Chris pointed out above).

WHAT IS SHELTERED HOUSING?

The Council\'s sheltered housing units (SHU) allow disabled people, people with learning disabilities and people aged 60 or more to retain a high degree of independence within their own homes. This is achieved, firstly, through the presence of a warden and, secondly, by the incorporation of a number of features and facilities designed to meet the needs of elderly and disabled residents.

Supported housing (sheltered accommodation)

There are many different types of sheltered or supported accommodation. These range from low to medium levels of support. Most of the sheltered accommodation available is designed with older people in mind. The majority of the accommodation is in the form of individual flats or studios within a block equipped with communal facilities. Some sheltered accommodation schemes have a resident warden and some have visiting wardens. Residents often have direct access to the warden via intercom or alarm facilities in their flat.

Het beschut wonen biedt onderdak en begeleiding aan personen met psychiatrische problemen die in het dagelijkse leven hulp nodig hebben om zelfstandig te (leren) leven en wonen. Bewoners van beschut wonen leven met een beperkt aantal andere patiënten in gewone huizen waar zij naast huisvesting ook begeleiding krijgen.

Which in that case would be more like the care homes, as defined in the first doc:
Care homes are usually specific to a particular client group, e.g. people with mental health problems, or elderly people. They can vary in size enormously, but the majority of them provide homes for between 8 to 20 residents.

Residents would usually have their own room, and share communal living areas. In some homes catering and cleaning services are provided. In others, aiming to foster independent living, residents are encouraged to take an active part in the activities of daily living.

I think both answers are possible, but to compare is not as easy as it seems....
