It's definitely worth it. I've been a registered user at ProZ.com since 2002, but only started getting jobs through the site after becoming a member. The membership fee paid back after the first order.

I tried the tool out and it is AMAZING. Congratulations to ProZ.com for thinking of and developing such a fantastic and helpful tool.

The membership helped me launch my professional career. I began receiving job offers through my profile from outsourcers from both Poland and abroad. In my case, the fee paid off in the very first month of being a full member. Being a paying member doesn't automatically make you a better translator, but it certainly gives you more opportunities.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. What I like most at ProZ.com is the relationship between the ProZ.com staff and us, the members. I felt that, while other sites are only after the money, you really care about us and about the way you can help us. This is very important.

ProZ.com has opened for me a completely new market, complementary to my existing one. I've learnt to apply new tools for marketing, business (software and systems) and translation.

I couldn't imagine my quickstart as a professional freelancer without ProZ. I registered as a user a few months ago to "test drive" the website features. Even without a full membership almost 80% of my current jobs come from ProZ Job Postings. Now that I'm well prepared for freelancing rather than hired as an employee, I expect to establish much more relationships with both agencies and partners.
