chernozem

Уже прижилась калька с русского термина, т.к. наш чернозем отличается от других типов подобной почвы...

agree GaryG : or "black-earth region"; sometimes just transliterated for specialists who know the terms chernozem and nechernozem'ye.

agree Jack slep : I've used "chernozem" for 50 plus years. It's a soil science term but it is also a common name and can be found in Webster's. Black Earth is synonymous with Chernozem but also with self-mulching black clays (in Australia).
