Dinner buffet event
18 years in the hospitality industry as a Director of catering and special events, 12 of which in the US.
Now they may call it differently in London...
Des variantes pourraient être:
upscale dinner buffet event
buffet style dinner event

Buffet dinner specially organized/arranged for the event/reception
depending on what the context is - a wedding or something more official

Joint buffet dinner
there are several definitions available for événementiel - on balance it seems to me that this means a dinner for those parties who have brought an event together - so the word 'joint' simplifies the issue - though if I read the whole context I may have to review my opinion.
