If this is strictly oriented towards Spanish-English? I am a university student in English-French translation with a basic knowledge in Castillan. I'll return to the U.S. after two 2 years spent in France and 5 years prior to that, was living in GA. Last year at the university offers minor in Spanish language. Is there room for someone like me in the market?

So, in short, yes, I believe there is a huge market for translation and interpreting in your language pair, provided you do your homework, which, in my personal opinion, is:
- ensure you use the tools of today (if translating, then CAT tools and accommodation for other technologies - if interpreting, learning about over-the-phone and remote-video interpreting, for example)
- do your marketing - remember that most translators and interpreters are freelancers, which translates into small business owners
- register at all the major agencies - more and more the job of translators and interpreters is being channeled (for good or for bad, but that is the reality) through the agencies.
Translation Office 3000 is an advanced accounting tool for freelance translators and small agencies. TO3000 easily and seamlessly integrates with the business life of professional freelance translators.
