In the course of my duty, I discovered the total sum of USD

I used to collect them, but got tired after a while.
If you google "nigerian scam", you may read on how involved and complex the whole scam really is.

Be very careful with these kind of money scams, NEVER answer them directly as they are run by highly criminal individuals who once they get hold of your e-mail address never let you go.ANd of course NEVER EVER give any details out.
Forward these scams to [email protected]

Yes, and one of the oldest around... this was discussed in various threads over the last few days:

What I fail to see is the relevance in the Events & Announcements forum, which is designed to "announce language-related events, local powwows, calls for papers, etc.".

Not so - the e-mail was sent through your ProZ.com profile, but ProZ.com did not initiate it.
So take care! it seems that the Nigeria Connection has found a big Database (Proz) to play with ;(
As was explained in one of the other threads I quoted, you can block your profile.
