My interests include translation criticism, translation and mass communication, and general translation work.

I graduated with a BA in Communication Research, magna cum laude, from the University of the Philippines in Diliman (UP Diliman) and as Class Valedictorian of the UP College of Mass Communication. My thesis tackled the role of translation in the cultural appropriation of gender and class in Philippine popular broadcast media. This was named Best Thesis in Communication Research for 2004 in UP Diliman.

I am presently working on my MA in Spanish with Translation Studies as major, at the same university. By November 2005, I will begin pursuing my Master's degree in Spanish as Foreign Language at the University of Valladolid as scholar of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
