Perhaps that? It's an asset, and that's what they do with unwanted assets - they divest them. Unless of course otchuzhdayemaya here is used in the sense of that being seized by the government. That's a totally different story.
Overall, you are still better off with sold or disposed of. There's generally no need to follow the high-speak of the pompous Russian original.

: There's no such thing as foreclosure in a purchase and sale agreement. Read the context.//These are 2 different things. Foreclosure is btw mortgage lender and borrower, not buyer & seller.

: As I already mentioned, this COULD be the case if the apartment was in fact being taken over by the government, but in the context of a purchase and sale agreement this is probably not what it actually happening.
