Russian to English Other Military / Defense

(High Explosive).

fragmentation grenade

Source: R>E Military Technical Dictionary. The British Army used one known as a "Mills bomb", of an oval shape with its casing divided up by grooves so that it would break into segments when the grenade exploded.

Thank you.
agree GaryG : The FBIS R>E Military Dictionary gives "grenade" and "shell", depending on additional adjectives (specifics)

Thank you. Yes, it could probably be a mortar bomb too, if made to fragment in the same way.
