cottage

I've seen it translated as cottage on a few sites, when a kårbolig is being rented out.
I was also thinking of suggesting farmhouse accommodation.

pensioner's cottage

This is the term Einar Haugen uses for "kårstue". "Stue" can of course mean both a small house or a room/rooms.
"Kårfolk": Pensioners on own estate, farm.
