Kala Pahar

Hindi to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Hindi movie
Right, here's my last question: thanks for bearing with me.

Here's the relevant extract from the book:

“Are you like the men who go into the forest and lose their minds? But no, your eyes are different. You must be like the boy in that movie, Kala Pahar—Teenu uncle took me to Bardhaman to see it before he became like the others. You know, the boy who gets in a motorcar accident and loses his memory?”

AFAIK "Kala Pahar" means "black mountain". Anyone seen this movie? I've only been able to find a reference to a 1932 film called "Kala Pahad": does it involve a boy losing his memory after a car accident?

Shukriya in advance!

Kala Pathar?

There is a more recent movie Kala Pathar, Amitabh Bachan, Shashi Kapoor starrer.

Unfortunately I haven't seen it. But you might be able find something about it on the internet.

Why I am mentioning it is because Pahar only needs a 't' to make it Pa't'har.
Peer comment(s):

agree keshab : yes, it is possible. It is also possible that the movie's name is imaginary in the novel.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Hmmm, I tend to agree with Keshab's suggestion that the author could have actually invented the name: have provided the literal meaning and asked the translator to check with the writer whether she was referring to a real movie. Have decided to give points based on the speed of the reply. Many thanks again to you all for replying!"

Black Mountain

KALA = BLACK, PAHAR = PAHAD = MOUNTAIN

In English writing sometimes D changes into R e.g. badoda = baroda, chopda = chopra etc.
