Does any one know if מפעל הזנה has a proper translation? Your urgent help is needed. Thanx.

All three answers are correct - depending on WHERE you are talking about! In America, I presume the answer NSLP is correct if we are referring to this specific program, and the answer hot lunch program - if not. In Israel, however, it would be advisable to use the third option, school nutrition project, which is a direct translation of the official Hebrew definition. By the way, in England its just called "school dinners"!

I'm not aware of any official translation, but I think that something along these lines (Food and Nutrition, etc.) is appropriate.

National School Lunch Program

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
