English term

An Garda Siochana

English Other Government / Politics Irish Police
Hello,
I have the above term, which I believe to be Gaelic! The term appears in the following sentence:
"In a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, you will have the opportunity to meet local Gardai and receive information about *An Garda Siochana*, Garda Reserve and specialised units within *An Garda Siochana*.

Is there an English translation for this term?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Hi, I originally asked these questions in Gaelic to English but there are only 8 registered users in that pair so I thought I might have more luck if I posted them in English monolingual.
