江湖 here may imply that those yarns exist not only everywhere, but also throughout history as well. "Every corner of the land" should take care of the historical aspect of the meaning of this concept as well, I think.

To be out in the 江湖 is to face the real, unprotected, world -- out of our cozy comfort zone， wherever and whenever it may be. It is not restricted to the time or the place of 西门吹雪, 西门丁, or 武松)。 Its meaning is more comprehensive and more inclusive than when we see it used in 武侠小说。At least this is my understanding.

Since it is 评书家 we are talking about, I suppose it is very possible they were telling stories of 江湖、武侠 etc.
If that is the case, I think "recreated lively scenes of Jiang-Hu" will do.

江湖 is a very special word in Chinese that refers to the artistics/entertainment world. I know there is some background to this phrase. I have had it explained to me before and I have forgotten, and I hope someone gives a full explanation here!
Entertainment scene may not be the best exact translation,b ut it is that sort of meaning.

This is obviously a hard one. It is unusual on this site to receive 5 answers all very different, isn't it? This phrase has come up many times before on proz.com - if you have a look at the archives you could find something useful. All corners of the country is one meaning of this word. But I understand it was a term describing the world or society of warriors in old China and came to describe the world of entertainers too. Please ignore the suggestion I made, which I should have given confidence "2" to, but I hope this explanation is more helpful.
