Is this meant for an ethnographic paper, in which case the actual meaning behind the saying should be revealed? Or a work of fiction, into which anything rhymed and witty would go?

So, this is meant for a letter congratulating the addressee with a move into a new dwelling, presumably from an estate agent. Hence 'a new place' is apposite.

Не уверена, стоит ли так серьезно углубляться в данном случае, но bride and groom - это только и исключительно непосредственно на свадьбе, поэтому посыл в принципе неверный. В "русском прокате" подразумевается то, что называется fiance или betrothed, а не жених во фраке под венцом.
