German term

re-NC

German to English Medical Medical (general) Gynecology
This is from a German "Überweisungsschein" to gynecology, and under the "Diagnosis" heading is the following:

"V.a. Residuen. Bitte Re-NC"

That is the only context. Could anyone please help with what "NC" might stand for. I was thinking "C" may stand for "curettage"

Thanks!
Stephen

Then we agree entirely See the last part of my comment :-)
Susanne Schiewe Jan 19, 2021:
Yes, sorry, I meant to say "re is not superfluous", because this seems to be at least the second NC.
Steffen Walter Jan 19, 2021:
This is not what I said Rather, I pointed out that the "Re" might be superfluous.
Susanne Schiewe Jan 19, 2021:
"Nach" refers to a curettage after delivery, abortion etc. (and not to a repeat curettage), i. e. the "Nach" is not superfluous".
Steffen Walter Jan 19, 2021:
Sounds plausible to me But then the "Re" in "Re-NC" would basically be superfluous because of "N" = "Nach-". Or else, this is about an "erneute Nachkürettage", i.e. at least the second "NC" attempt.
Susanne Schiewe Jan 19, 2021:
Nachkürettage/Nachcurettage I think you are on the right track.

re-curettage after delivery/miscarriage/abortion

Unfortunately, I do not know if there is an umbrella term like the German "Nachkürettage". But maybe there is enough context to be more specific?
