What would be a good US English adjective to convey the meaning of this word in the context of soccer fanatics rooting for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, chanting in Mineirão stadium, going crazy, adrenaline flowing, excited......specially after they clinched the "Copa do Brasil" title in an emotional match decided in penalty shootouts against Flamengo a few weeks ago in Belo Horizonte. "Cruzeiro Cabuloso" has become a popular term and one sees this in outdoor billboards, newspaper headlines, blogs like the one below and if you search it in Google Images you will see more examples.
I will leave the term in PT, but I do need to find an approximate EN equivalent to explain it to US and international EN speaking readers.
Thanks in advance for everyone who will participate in this question.

Wicked
Essa é uma gíria mais utilizada pelos britânicos/europeus, mas eu acredito que passa bem a ideia da gíria "cabuloso" - algo impressionante e emocionante, expresso por um adjetivo que pode ser usado tanto em contextos positivos (uma manobra cabulosa; a wicked trick) ou em contextos negativos (um acidente cabuloso; a accident).

: Wicked, as is Cabuloso, is very contextual. Can be a positive or negative adjective.

Comment: "Anna, this was a hard choice to make since all the answers were valid and could possibly fit. I think WICKED sort of captured the essence of CABULOSO. THANK YOU EVERYONE ;)))"

hardcore
A gíria sofreu uma alteração de sentido comum, de algo ruim para algo positivo. Seu sentido, é claro, é extremamente contextual, mas claramente expressa alta intensidade e agressividade. Nenhuma tradução vai capturar as nuances, mas creio que o termo "hardcore" seja comparável e sirva adequadamente.

freaky
Freaky in the sense of frightening. invincible:
"... o Cruzeiro, jogando contra tudo e contra todos venceu todos eles de forma mais do que justa."
The word 'cabuloso'' normally has a negative connotation. In this context, it's being used positively, so it's like a negative positive, I would say.
Significado de 'cabulo' - follow link below.

incredible, wonderful, spectacular, fantastic
The term "cabuloso" has acquired new meanings lately in Brazil. It's commonly used as something positive, to describe something that is wonderful. In this case, the meaning is positive, of course, and any adjective with a negative sense are undue.
