Spanish term

Declaracion jurada del contrayente o la contrayente.

Spanish to English Other Law (general)
I would like to know what will be the best way to translate this phrase from Puerto Rican Spanish into American English.

This is the translation of a long marriage certificate from Puerto Rico.

will be okay to translate as a sworn declaration of the bride or the groom?

Thanks.

I think that affidavit of the bride and the groom is OK. But not SWORN, because affidavit alone includes that meaning. In a recent marriage certificate from Florida I've translated, it says male and female instead of bride and groom.
Good luck.

Thanks Miss Zorron. What do you think will be the best way to translate this phrase? What about sworn affidavit of the bride and groom? Please let me know. Thanks.

Sworn declaraion by the bride and groom

I think I would change the order around and mention the bride first. Hope this helps.

I would say that affidavit is more of an American term. Oh yes, sorry about that, it should read "declaration". Well spotted!

Thanks Ruth. Is this appropriate for American English? I can tell by your profile that you are British. I think I see a typo in the sentence. It's supposed to be declaration. Thanks. yugoslavia
