German term

Eisgugelhupf

German to English Marketing Food & Drink
Taken from a menu:

Rhabarbermousse mit marinierten Beeren und Eisgugelhupf

From looking around online, I have an idea what this looks like - but what on earth would it be called in English?
Change log

Discussion

Courtney Sliwinski Apr 7, 2009:
clarification Are there any pictures available? Maybe they just mean that the rhubarb mousse is surrounded by a ring of ice-cream and not necessarily cake.

ice cream Guglhupf

agree Lisa Davey : From this recipe (and picture) it looks as if the ice-cream has been made in a Gugelhupf mould - no cake mixture involved http://rezepte.t-online.de/rezepte/eisgugelhupf

Genau. Kein Kuchen, nur Eis.

ice ring cake

Peer comment(s):

neutral Anne-Marie Grant (X) : ring cake with ice cream. To me 'ice' suggests icing.

You might even just translate it with 'ice cream cake', but it's less specific.

Thank you Courtney!
neutral beermatt : 2 reasons: "bundt cake" is mainly US-oriented. I've asked some Brits - they didn't understand it, neither did I. Also, the recipe you provide contains cake mixture! "Eisgugelhupf" is a type of parfait made in a Gugelhupf mould - nothing to do with cake.
