DTD files in TagEditor Thread poster: Ludmila Salemova-Mejdrova

We have Trados 6.5 LSP. The client send XML files, TagEditor is asking for the DTD files, with the specified "doctype declarations". The client sent the DTD files, like "StandardDoc.dtd". Trados is asking for the DTD file "StandardDoc.ini". I don't understand why the file has the DTD extension, but TagEditor is asking for an *.ini file. Any help would be helpful! Trados stores tag settings in .ini files because these can hold additional info such as the fonts used to display the tagged stuff. Getting Trados to use the DTD stored in a DTD file is easy, though. Just open TagEditor, click on Tools>Tag Settings..., then New... You will be prompted for the kind of settings you want to create. Choose XML. Next, you'll have to enter a descriptive name. Do that, call it "StandardDoc" or whatever you like. ... See more Trados stores tag settings in .ini files because these can hold additional info such as the fonts used to display the tagged stuff. Just keep clicking Next..., then Finish, and you should be able to work with the client's files. Please note that I only have Trados 7.1 here, so your buttons and dialogs may be labeled slightly differently. The overall process should be the same, though.
