Hi,

I have the Microsoft glossaries (English > French) in the CSV format. In order to be able to import them in a TM, I used a utility that converted the CSV file in a very nice *.txt file. Everything looks fine from that point.
I created a memory and imported the *.txt file in Translator Workbench.

Is there any workaround to display the French properly?
Thanks!

Maybe this can help Oct 19, 2005

Take the txt file and open it with Editor (text editor Windows) and "save as"
-the same name,
-as txt
-change the code to utf-8

after that import it to your TM

Not each process can work with unicode, for french you do not need unicode, utf-8 is enough. It takes just a few seconds to try.

I solved my problem! Oct 24, 2005

Hi,

Actually, the files were already in utf-8, which was the source of the problem.
I saved them as Ansi files and could import them without any problems in the WB.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers

Caroline
