Recently, one of my clients told me that there was someone trying to use my name and resume to get jobs from translation companies.
The email address is [email protected], and the name they use is Liming Palls, instead of Liming Pals. But the CV is my CV and they just changed the name and the email address.
Last year, the same kind of scam email was also sent by [email protected], and using Liming Palls too.
I am going to report these email address on Proz.com, translatorscafe.com, and other websites.
Please note Liming Pals is my name and I am a US citizen living in Iowa USA. My email address is [email protected].
Please help and advise what I should do. This has happened twice and I have deleted my CVs from websites like Proz.com
Hi Liming, I'd recommend you to send all the details to http://www.translator-scammers.com/ You'd then be "registered" as a victim of identity scam for all who may get suspicious and google your name. All best for you, Katarina

I don't know if you use LinkedIn, but there are a number of translators' groups you can post to. Also make sure to report the fraud to the scammer's email provider (hotmail in this case). I'm not sure how effective it is, but one would think those big companies had an interest in preventing this type of thing and protecting their legitimate customers.
I'm sorry this happened to you - very upsetting, I'm sure.
