Hi,
Can anyone advise on how to make changes into an already existing PDF file. Basically I have to make some correction into a translated work given by my client. Also if it is possible to use the any of the trail versions of Adobe Acrobat for that purpose.

Hi,
You should either ask your client for the Word file or try to create one yourself.
There are several articles on this subject in these Forums and also in the Article Knowledgebase (to go to this option go to Community > Article Knowledgebase > Technology > Software and the Internet).
The trial versions of Adobe Acrobat can be used to create .PDF files from a Word file and not the other way around.

If you have the complete Adobe Acrobat, (not just the reader), you can sure make some minor changes to the PDF documents. On the menu, there is a key called marked with a capital "T", rolling down the menu it is called the "Touchup text tool". You can certainly makes changes and save them without having to convert to word back and forth all over again.

...you can try pasting the PDF text into Word.
In the PDF document, click on the Select Tool (looks like "I") and then, with the mouse, select the text you want. You may not be able to select it all at once because the paragraph marks (like balck arrowheads) may limit how much you can copy at a time.
Then open Word and paste the copied text. You will lose all formatting like this (especially tables) but it's one way of dealing with simple text.

Hello Mohammad!
I have recently made proofing comments on a PDF file. I was able to use Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 to do so, but the file also had to be saved in such a way that I had "commenting and callout" access. It was the first time I had done this, and I was very pleased and impressed with these tools.
Ask your client if they can send you a file where you have commenting privileges. It's an option that is set when the file is saved in PDF format, along with printing, editing, and a few other rights as well.
Basically, the idea is that a PDF file cannot be tampered with. But there are a few loopholes which can be left open.

This is a free substitution for Acrobat and much faster. You can make notes into pdfs and save the new file.
I have thrown out Acrobat and use Foxit as default pdf-reader.

Since you propose a solution from Abbyy - FineReader - then, why not use the tool designed for it:
a) Use PDF Transformer (evidently, from Abbyy), which shall change the PDF file into a rtf or doc file.
b) Make necessary change.
c) Export the rft or doc file into pdf format. I use pdfFactoryPro, but there are plenty of other (free) solutions on the Internet.

You can edit (not just add notes/comments to) a PDF document in the way described by Satto (Roberto), but sometimes the formatting of the document goes awry.

I tried many of the suggested sofewares but the problem is that they do not work properly with files written in Farsi.

I know this will sound a bit rude, but as a translator, it's not your job to do the DTP. The time it will take you to get the result you want should be paid, but with an already agreed upon rate, you will be at a loss.

The PDF they sent you - it was originally in some editable format before it became a PDF. Why don't they send you that?
Last resort solution: you can always retype the whole thing, but make sure you get your hourly translation rate paid for it - or propose they have someone else retype it and forward that to you. And yes, hourly TRANSLATION rate, not typing rate. You are a translator and shouldn't have to do simple data entry in your position. If they want you to type, they should pay the translation rate, because you ARE a translator.
