In the following context:
1) “Back-Haul Capacity” means transportation capacity on the Project or any Portion with respect to flows away from the XXX Pipeline and towards the YYY Mainline.
2) “Forward-Haul Capacity” means transportation capacity on the Project or any Portion with respect to flows away from the YYY Mainline and towards the XXX Pipeline.
3) "Expansion Capacity” means all transportation capacity (including without limitation all Forward-Haul Capacity) on the Project or any Portion, that is associated with or created by an Expansion. Notwithstanding the foregoing, all Back-Haul Capacity is hereby deemed to constitute “Expansion Capacity” for all purposes hereunder"

La relación entre el concepto de contraflujo y las transacciones es utilizada en Norte América de acuerdo con la siguiente definición adoptada por AGA (American Gas Association):
“Backhaul: A transaction that results in the transportation of gas in a direction opposite of the aggregate physical flow of gas in the pipeline. This is typically achieved when the transporting pipeline redelivers gas at a point(s) upstream from the point(s) of receipt. A backhaul condition will exist as long as the aggregate backhaul transactions total less than the aggregate forward haul transactions. A backhaul transaction can result in a delivery by non-delivery or cut back (reduction) of physical flow at a delivery point.”
