I am a freelance German-English translator based in Decorah, Iowa, specializing in sustainable agriculture, life sciences and music.
Translation started for me in 2011, with Kiko Denzer's "Build Your Own Earth Oven" into German. Since then I have translated "Handbuch Samengärnterei," "Blackbox Gardening: mit versamenden Pflanzen Gärten gestalten," and "Pilze selbst anbauen" into English. I'm also the author of "The Scything Handbook."
In conjunction with Vienna, Austria's Wohnzimmer Records, I have translated numerous band bios, Web pages and other rock band related texts.
In 2003 I learned German in Munich at "Deutschkurse für Ausländer bei der LMU München" and later lived in Austria for five years. I am married to a German native speaker.
I earned a BA in Environmental Studies, emphasis Agroecology, from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
